Help:Contents
From The Fansub Wiki
The wiki is now running Mediawiki instead of Pukiwiki. There are a few changes that you need to be aware of which are outlined below:
Contents |
Formatting
The formatting of each listing is now changed from |time|[[title:url]]|network|episodes|groups| to {{New(un)aired|time=|url=|title=|network=|episodes=|groups=}}
Colors are changed from &color(color){text}; to XHTML standard <span style="color:color">text</span>
The grey color for airing times is now defined by the "Newaired" and "Newunaired" templates.
Airing times for all licensed shows are now greyed out by default.
Use the "Newaired", "Newunaired", or "Newlicensed" templates to add/remove/modify a show listing. If a show does not have a site link, use "newunairnourl" or "newairnourl", instead. The format for the non-URL templates are the same with the exception of the "url=|" variable.
For boneheads who didn't understand the last line: {{New(un)airnourl|time=|title=|network=|episodes=|groups=}}
Struck out listings are now done with the <span style="text-decoration:line-through"></span> tags instead of the %% tag.
To combine tags, use a semi-colon. Example: <span style="color:green;text-decoration:line-through"></span>
Comments
Comments are no longer below the show listings. All comments now belong in the "discussion" tab at the top of the page. Use the [new] and [reply] links on the right to add comments.
The discussion page works on an honor system and therefore is NOT protected! ALL users can add/edit/delete everything in the discussion page. There is no undo or rollback feature either.
Usernames, IPs and Registation
The wiki now has a user and user registration system. Due to repeated vandalism registration is now REQUIRED.
The wiki history will track ALL changes to the pages, minor or not. Alongside these changes, the user or IP of the editor will be recorded and can be viewed by the public.
Abuse Protection
Mediawiki offers a better system than Pukiwiki in abuse protection. Firstly, the history of each page is publicly viewable and can be reverted to a good copy at any time. Secondly, because of how page history works, if a page is "deleted", the page can still be accessed and its contents fully recovered.
IPs are now logged publicly and an IP-block page is HTTP accessible so sysops can ban abusers more efficiently.
